Hoechst Pakistan took a chance on me nearly a decade ago, starting me out as a Sales Representative. I thrived in my role, and very early on in my career I got promoted to District Manager. But after some time, there was this strong inner feeling that I could really make a difference on the other side of the table. Sales and Marketing are inseparable, yet they are worlds apart. I knew my sales savviness could bridge the gap and help me make a real impact if I wore the marketing hat. I shared my ambition and dream with my supervisors. They believed in me. From Brand Manager to Marketing Manager, and now Business Unit Head, my path unfolded exceptionally well in the realm of Commercial operations. Every step I took was fueled by an incredible team. Starting my career as a Production Officer, I had the privilege to grow in the same company that gave me my first career break. My incredible career journey from FMCG to Pharmaceutical Industry started way back in 2002 as Management Trainee with the Packages Group. Gradually, I gained valuable exposure and experience in diverse local & multinational FMCG companies for almost 20 years in Sales & Trade Marketing before joining Hoechst Pakistan Limited in 2021 as National Trade Manager for the Consumer Health Care Division. Coming from a hardcore FMCG background, it appeared a bit daunting at first to learn the dynamics of Pharma industry while adapting myself to the new environment, but the support from leadership team & peers not only allowed me to assimilate into the culture but also paved the way for me to execute my plans successfully and carve my future in the organization. Being a member of the Leadership team now, I feel that my career progression reflects the trust & confidence of the Management in its employees and their effort in developing potential talent for future leadership roles.

I have been fortunate to have had a diversified career in HR at Hoechst Pakistan. Starting from leading the Compensation, Benefits, and HR Operations, then moving on to HR Business Partnering, Factory HR & Industrial Relations (IR), I have, over the years, turned into an all-rounder HR professional, thanks to the exposure this organization has accorded me. Very recently, I was entrusted with the role of leading the Administration and Security functions of the company. I embarked on my professional journey as a Trainee Pharmacist in WahCantt, back when the organization was named Rhone Poulenc Rorer.Over the years, I have witnessed key mergers and transitions of thisorganization which is now Hoechst Pakistan Limited.During these transformative periods I encountered various challengesand navigated uncertain conditions but with complete faith in theAlmighty and my resolute motivation, I continued to overcome the mostdaunting obstacles.My journey has been marked by numerous milestones, includingembracing new technologies, optimizing processes and leading teams.Of the most noteworthy achievements, I played a key role in thevalidation and product transfer team when the Wah site product facilitywas reallocated to Karachi, ensuring a seamless transition of productsand machinery without any market shortages. In varying businesscircumstances and changing environments, I demonstrated my ability towork effectively in high pressure situations.My experiences taught me the importance of resilience, adaptability andleadership in times of change. When I returned from Sweden after securing my Master’s in Software Technology, I was looking to join an organization where I could realize my full potential and thrive as an IT professional. Luckily, I became part of Hoechst Pakistan Limited in 2016 as Team Lead ITS Applications. This place has given me excellent learning and growth opportunities, exposing me to diverse and challenging projects over the years that had a direct impact on customer engagement and business performance. Understanding customer needs, providing solutions by enabling new channels and improving customer journey and reach through Omni Channel approach, lends meaning and purpose to my work. During the journey of digital evolution at Hoechst Pakistan, I got the opportunity to work with various stakeholders for app migration on a cloud environment and optimize the in-house digital footprint. The journey continues, and I look forward to more exciting years ahead…
Eight years in Hoechst Pakistan feel like yesterday to me. Going beyond my job description and trying new things has helped me gain valuable exposure. As a Medical Science Liaison professional, I have had the privilege to work with esteemed healthcare professionals which led me to improve my knowledge and upgrade my pharmacological skills on a day-to-day basis. My stint with different Business units in the capacity of a product presenter (prior to my current role) allowed me to work with multiple specialties,adding to my clinical and marketing skills while also expanding my internal stakeholder interaction. I thoroughly enjoy the freedom and responsibility associated with my job which entails fieldwork and frequent interaction with customers. What inspires me the most is the strong brand image I carry with myself when I represent Hoechst Pakistan in the market.
